Common Core Math Is ‘More Fun,’ Says California Student
Common Core continues to be implemented across the nation, and many students in California are quickly warming up to new methods of learning fractions. According to a story in the SF Gate: “‘I think it’s more fun than the regular way,’ said fourth-grader Sneha Limbu, who said she didn’t previously like math. ‘It’s also easier to learn when you show with pictures.'”
The article, New Common Core Math Standards Add Up to Big Changes, describes how math concepts are being taught differently, but in ways that focus more on learning concepts and less on memorization.
