Former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue Calls for Conservatives to Reclaim Common Core
Former Gov. Sonny Perdue (R-GA) refuses to retreat from Common Core because of, “the shrill voices of naysayers,” who are pushing conservatives to abandon higher education standards. He writes at FoxNews.com that it is time for conservatives to reclaim Common Core. As evidence, he points out:
“Common Core is working. In Tennessee, one the first states to adopt the Standards , fourth- and eighth-grade students made the biggest gains in the country in math and reading proficiency. In Kentucky, college-readiness scores have improved for the last four years since it adopted the Standards.”
